Foodbank

Av4h5Q2toc7_C1V5wpe5wNgIgYMlkN3lsT7o8fazRd_hToday we hosted ten of the youth from Worcester Noise.

They came to help us as part of their Noise Week to experience how through Foodbank the church is at work on the community.

When they arrived this morning we were still struggling to catch up with a backlog of work as a result of the amazing generosity through harvest donations.
We set them to work across all aspects of our operation. They sorted food into type and date. They packed food parcels and they did some admin too!  We showed them how we meet and greet clients and they helped with hospitality.

When we closed after the Friday session we had a full stock of food parcels and no backlog in the warehouse.
What an amazing job they did. And some are also keen to help us at our Tesco collection in early December.

A big THANKYOU to Deema and team.

AuUdPVwVfjD8ilKZ6Ui-VHqjD1zpti457b4D52OvCp2dThank you so much for you and your team's efforts last Friday. I have never seen the Garden area so clear, in fact I've been inspired to order a bunch of wildflower seeds to plant in the newly rcovered area next spring. The painters also did a great job. I'm going to have to find volunteers with very long arms ( or legs) to continue from where they left off!

Please pass on my thanks to all the people involved we very much appreciate their efforts and without them none of the work would have been done.

Thank you

Cake

This week has been an exciting week so far for The Noise with the arrival of the shiny promo postcards and lots of meetings with cake to discuss projects we are going to support during the mission!

CakeFirst up was Grahame from Foodbank who is really excited to partner with us and have a couple of teams doing different things alongside Foodbank during the mission week. This was a chance to sample tasty teacakes and millionaire shortbread!

Next was a meeting with chocolate twists and cappuccino with Worcester Baptist Church’s new minister Darren to brainstorm how we can use their city centre location to serve their community in the Arboretum during the mission – so exciting to have another church on board praying for the mission and wanting to be part of reaching young people and uniting them for Christ!

Also met for lunch (no cake this time though!) with Miz from iSingPop to share some ideas for outreach and get our heads together about all things tech in the Cathedral! Thank goodness for the tech team!

Do you have an idea for a project the young people can run or connect with on Friday 30th October? We would love to hear from you!

Email Info@thenoiseworcester.co.uk and let’s talk mission!

What is The Noise Worcester all about?

Last Autumn, God gave a vision to bring together young Christians who would stand firm in the one Spirit and strive together as one for the faith of the gospel (Philippians 1:27) to reach our city in unity through mission. After many months of praying, planning and coffee drinking by Youth Ministers, Youth Leaders and Youth Advocates representing many churches in Worcestershire, The Noise 2015 was born.

The plan is to bring young people together in word & deed mission in our city, demonstrating God’s love through practical service and declaring the good news of Jesus Christ to those we meet & serve.

We dream of seeing young people making a loud noise of love, hope and joy (Psalm 98:4) and have planned a three day mission which will take place in Worcester during the Autumn half term break from 29th – 31st October.
